Holiday retail tips at the OPEN Forum blog

Posted on | November 5, 2008 | No Comments

So, yeah … Obama won. You knew that, right?

Moving right along, now that we can think about something else, regardless of what you may have heard about the year end holiday shopping season getting underway immediately after Thanksgiving, said shopping season is actually underway now.

And whether you are a brick-and-click retailer or an e-commerce pure play, you’ll want to do everything you can to counteract what is expected to be a pretty lean forth quarter for retailers large and small. The economy has been losing jobs all year now, consumers are nervous (whether they still have their job or not), and the easy credit that help to fuel previous spending sprees has pretty much dried up.

Now would be a good time for a few holiday retailing tips for small and microbusinesses, wouldn’t you say?

Yes, that’s what I thought. So, you should go check out my blog post over at the American Express OPEN Forum blog, “Retailers, Your Mission: Snag Those Web Buyers,” for plenty of said tips covering free shipping promotions, gift cards, and other notes of note.

All things considered (economically speaking), it’s important for your small and microbusiness retailers to do as much as you can to keep silver and gold from turning into crash and burn, right?
