The trustworthy media is where???

Seth Godin is getting a headache from the current political season with its endless lies spin, and he observes that there is “a huge opportunity for a trusted media source that takes on spin from all quarters and throws it back in the face of the spinner. Show them video of themselves from last week and ask them to respond.”
Never fear, Seth. There is such a trusted source: Jon Stewart.
What is really, truly pathetic about this situation is that the best “trusted media source” has its home on Comedy Central. This sort of reporting (without the jokes, of course) should be coming from the mainstream media. It’s supposed to be their job to help us sort out spin from reality.
So, what does that tell you about the state of modern journalism when Jon Stewart does their job better than they do?
(Go ahead and accuse me of bias here, but this was just a perfect example of what Seth described. If you can find a vid that equally perfectly captures Stewart doing the same thing to Democrats — taking on spin and throwing it back in their faces — I’ll be happy to post it here, too.)
