Podcast: SBA Still Accounting for Katrina Response
Posted on | July 30, 2007 | Comments Off
This week’s podcast is a touch on the short side but no worries – I still manage to cover everything.
I know I managed to sound like a Steve Preston groupie in this week’s publication and podcast but I can’t tell you what a relief it is to watch the man work. Barreto was, frankly, just smarmy. I know there were some folks who had their doubts about Mr. Preston since his background was in big business rather than small business. But he has such a roll-up-the-sleeves-and-get-it-done attitude that he closely resembles a lot of the microbusiness owners I know.
And I can say much better about anybody than that.
If you found yourself thinking that it felt like we were in a recession last month, no matter what the economists say, you’ll find you had good reason according to all the data about June 2007 coming down the pike. The economists are all still a cheery bunch of folks, though; they say they don’t expect anything more than a slight slowdown. We’ll see how that works out.
Plus good news about a new initiative from the SBA Office of Advocacy and, as always, the weekly Policy Matters column.
