The terrified-American voting block
Posted on | November 1, 2006 | Comments Off
According to Gallup, everybody’s running scared.
Under a headline that proclaims “If Political Fright Inspires Turnout, Democrats Have The Edge,” the venerable pollsters explain:
President George W. Bush and his political team are trying to motivate Republican voters about the upcoming midterm elections by detailing the policy ills they say will result from a Democratic majority in Congress. However, according to a new Gallup survey, it is Democratic supporters who are more anxious about the consequences of the opposing party winning control of the U.S. House of Representatives coming out of next Tuesday’s elections.
And there you have it. If a sense of civic duty won’t get people to the polls, maybe fear will.
Oy.
