Laboring my way into Labor Day weekend

Posted on | August 31, 2006 | 1 Comment

Tomorrow is slated to be a pretty busy day for your trusty Journal Blogger.

I’ll start the day by joining Jim Blasingame during the first segment of his daily radio show to talk about public policy and microbusinesses. If you’d like to catch me on the radio, live or otherwise, visit Jim’s web site — I’ll be live on the air between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. Eastern. Archives from the show will be available after 9 a.m.

(You’ve been pining to find out what I sound like, haven’t you?)

Jim is one of the most respected, influential small business journalist in the country, and was recognized as the 2002 Small Business Journalist of the Year by the SBA. He’s a good guy, too, and somebody I’m happy to call a peer.

I’ll give myself half an hour or so to have breakfast and otherwise debrief from the high (I really do love doing radio), and then I’m off!

You may recall that I’ll be participating in Clean Sweep Challenge Day, and I’m jazzed about it. By the time the days is over, not only will I be able to easily locate the top of my desk, I expect to be ready to

  1. pitch my kids out the door next week, secure in the knowledge that I can deal with all the paperwork their schools plague me with;
  2. implement real systems to improve my management efficiency, and increase my sales and revenues, and
  3. get an average of about 6 hours of my day back.

Not too shabby, huh?

The down side is that The Journal Blog will fall silent tomorrow while I wrestle the paper blob to the ground and establish my dominance. Wish me luck.

You might want to consider taking the challenge yourself, by the way … it’s likely to pay dividends.

Meanwhile, have a lovely Labor Day weekend. See you next week!
