In Monday’s MicroEnterprise Journal

Posted on | March 31, 2006 | Comments Off

Next week’s issue of The MicroEnterprise Journal is likely to be one of the better ones.

In the national news, we’ve got ourselves a theme — something that doesn’t often happen but the way stories fell into the lap this week, it just worked out that way. More news on the ultimate fate of the SBA, with rumors flying about nay-sayers getting to say their nays before a Senate subcommittee. More, too, on the underrated SBA entrepreneurial development programs, including some thoughts about their future in an SBA-less world, and a profile of one entrepreneurial development program that may provide a more local model for providing small business support (if we can’t count on the feds for that sort of thing any more).

Please New Mexico bureau chief Mary Schmidt continues her series on health insurance coverage, and Washington bureau chief Diane Ensey begins her coverage of the Washington Senate race, where Democrat Maria Cantwell will defend her seat first in a primary challenge and then in the general election. Diane reviews the candidates and their web sites for next week’s issue.

Have a great weekend, everybody!
